BRIEF will be offering four 2-day SF training modules in Wales, in Cardiff, between October 2018 and April 2019. This marks the enormous growth in interest in Solution Focus throughout Wales in both children, family and adult services, in which BRIEF has been delighted (and proud) to have played a part.
The programme will start in October 2018 and will complete in April 2019.
The dates are as follows:
October 24 & 25: Foundation Programme for those new to the approach with Harvey Ratner
November 22 & 23: Staying Brief with Harvey Ratner
January 24 & 25: Staying Brief with Evan George
April 04 & 05: Staying Brief with Evan George
All these modules will take place in Cardiff and the venue will be in Cardiff University.
The first module is a Foundation module whilst the others will build skills and familiarity and can either be taken as a programme or can be ‘purchased’ individually. For those of you who want to apply for the BRIEF Certificate in SF Practice 8 days of training on BRIEF courses is required. If you have completed 2 days already you could join the second module, if you have completed four days the third and so on.
There will be reading made available to you before and after each of the modules to support your exploration of this way of working and there will be web-based support.
The cost of each module is £275.00 + VAT (330.00). If you or your organisation book and pay for all four modules together there will be a discount of £100.00.

BRIEF London Summer School 12 - 16 August
Summer School is more than a course.
It is an event and a celebration of the possibilities of the Solution Focused approach which takes place annually in the heart of London in August. 'Newbies' and 'oldies' alike will attend Summer School working along side each other and learning from each other. There will be social events for those who choose in the evenings but the course above all is an exploration of the latest developments in this exciting, generous, appreciative, effective, efficient, empowering, exciting (yes it really is) way of working.
The programme is always responsive to the group but has typically included presentations, exercises and live demonstrations.
Chris and Harvey and Evan will look forward to your company and your unique contribution!
Brief Therapy follow-on courses are an essential part of solution focused skills development. They are intended for professionals already trying to put solution focused brief therapy into practice in their everyday work but who, like us all, are finding areas of difficulty.
Clients feeling 'blamed' by professionals is not an uncommon experience and is never productive or useful. So how do Solution Focused practitioners transform the 'blaming' process and turn it into something positive? Evan George shares some thoughts.
