Conflict Resolution

"We don't have to like each other; we do have to work together"

Poor working relationships are one of the biggest drains of corporate energy and resource. They are also the greatest source of individual stress and consequent sickness, as well as being associated with heightened staff turnover. This waste of resource and loss of productivity is entirely avoidable and a Solution Focused approach offers the simplest and most direct way to good working relationships.

BRIEF will work with individuals, groups, teams, indeed anyone who wants the future to be more productive than the past and who is prepared to contribute to the change.

The Solution Focused approach is uniquely well placed to work effectively in situations of conflict, focusing on the building of a more successful future rather than the exploration of the difficulties of the past.

How can we think about the client’s ‘best hopes’?

There are things that continue to puzzle me about the Solution Focused approach – not just interest me but really puzzle me. And the main one that I find myself thinking about over and over is to do with the client’s response to the ‘best hopes’ question. How should we think about the client’s response, what name should we give it, and how should the client’s answer be connected to the rest of the work? Evan George shares some very provisional thoughts.
