The Centre for Solution Focused Practice

NEW Advanced Practice Certificate Course

BRIEF is offering a new Advanced Practice Certificate Course (Level 3) to begin in January 2020 and run for six two-day modules until July 2020.

The Course is an exciting new venture, enabling those wishing to develop and to hone their SF skills to focus on the detail of practice in relation to their everyday work. The curriculum will closely follow the United Kingdom Association for Solution Focused Practice’s newly published Accreditation Criteria and so those participants interested in achieving official accreditation by the UKASFP will be well-prepared by this course.

The skills taught during this programme will include:

• Client-led contracting taking cognizance of other legitimate stakeholders such as employers, safeguarding and other statutory authorities.
• Developing detailed preferred future descriptions including descriptions of interactional behaviour.
• Thorough detailing of what the client is already doing that might contribute to their hoped-for outcome.

While the course concentrates on developing practice skills, recommendations will be made about reading that can be carried out by participants to develop their understanding of the history and theory of SFP.

At the end of the course participants will have the opportunity to present a recording and transcript of a role-play session for informal assessment by course staff.

Applicants will need to have completed two prior training courses with BRIEF and to be in a position to apply their learning directly throughout the course.

The course dates are:

27 - 28 January 2020
24 - 25 February 2020
23 - 24 March 2020

11 - 12 May 2020
08 - 09 June 2020
13 - 14 July 2020

The course venue will be in Central London. The training day will start at 10.00 on each Monday and will finish at 16.30 each Tuesday.

Cost £1875 plus VAT (£2250 incl. VAT)
